History - The Legend of the Thirteen Skulls

A Mesoamerican myth from the Magyar and Aztec civilizations tells of thirteen crystal skulls belonging to the Goddess of Death. They were called "the mothers and fathers of wisdom." Each skull was carved from a single crystal and had a movable lower jaw. They did not symbolize death, as a skull does today, but reflected the view that death was merely a portal to another dimension. Through death, the spirit would rejoin its ancestors, and the body would return to fertilize Mother Earth. According to some, the ancient skulls not only contained hidden wisdom but also had the gift of telepathy and healing. Each skull was kept in a different sacred place and guarded by guardian-priests. But in another version of the legend, there are 13 large skulls out of a total of 52 scattered throughout the world. The Cherokee are said to have a similar legend in which each skull represents one of the 12 uninhabited plants within the cosmos, with the 13th serving as a bridge to other worlds. It is now believed that these ancient skulls emerge to share their wisdom once humanity has evolved sufficiently to understand its spiritual implications. Meanwhile, guardians with the proper training and sensitivity communicate with the skulls, transmitting their message throughout human evolution. But you can also work with contemporary skulls yourself and gain profound insights.
The Mitchell Hedges skull
Perhaps the most famous, and simultaneously one of the most controversial, skulls is the one Anna Mitchell Hedges discovered during a dig conducted by her father in Central America. She claimed that on her 17th birthday, in April 1927, she discovered a crystal skull without a lower jaw beneath a dilapidated altar. The jaw was later found nearby; it had been carved from a piece of quartz.
Anna Mitchell Hedges claimed until her death that she had discovered the skull in Lubaantun (the place of the fallen stones). However, her father likely purchased the skull at auction at Sotheby's in London in 1943. There is disagreement about whether the skull is a fake or an authentic artifact, but that seems of little consequence. The skull took on a life of its own. It reportedly could talk, had an aura, and contained images of the past, present, and future. This is also true for similar skulls that have opened a kind of crystal internet. These skulls convey the message to people around the world that we must honor Mother Earth.
