My body, my trauma, my self - Franz Ruppert and Harald Banzhaf

Unprocessed trauma speaks through the body

A psychotrauma that has not healed leaves traces in the body and can manifest as pain, inflammation, or illness. Through every physical symptom, a part of the unprocessed life history can become visible. When the underlying traumas are healed, the body's self-healing capacity is supported.

Body, psyche, and trauma inextricably linked

In this book, Franz Ruppert shows how the human psyche splits in response to overwhelming experiences – and how psychotrauma and physical ailments are inextricably linked. He introduces Identity-oriented Psychotrauma Theory and Therapy (IoPT), which uses the 'Constellation of Intention' method to make traumas conscious and process them. Harald Banzhaf, a physician, describes from a neurobiological and epigenetic perspective how traumatic stress affects our body. The connection between physical signals, psyche, and trauma is further clarified in 23 author contributions on topics including chronic pain, cardiovascular diseases, back and joint pain, sleep disorders, sexual problems, and certain forms of cancer.
