Most oracle cards work with symbols and interpretation. This English-language deck was created by Greg Mahr, a psychiatrist and researcher of trauma and nightmares, and Heather Taylor-Zimmerman, a Jungian psychologist and visual artist. The 46 cards cover the most common dream themes: recurring plots, recognizable settings, emotions that surface in dreams, and figures people encounter in their dreams. The visual language is evocative – designed to activate the unconscious without pinning the viewer to a single meaning. Additionally, the deck includes a group of instructional cards on practice: how to remember your dreams, how to consciously work towards a lucid dream, and how to maintain a healthy sleep routine. This is not a standard component of an oracle deck.

You can use the cards to incubate a specific dream theme, explore your current psychological state, or examine a dream you've already had more closely. The 256-page manual supports all these forms of use. For therapists and counselors, the deck also offers an entry point for working with clients' dreams – the creators explicitly mention this. About the authors
Greg Mahr is a psychiatrist affiliated with the medical faculties of Michigan State University and Wayne State University. He previously wrote The Wisdom of Dreams: Science, Synchronicity and the Language of the Soul and has published over 30 academic articles on trauma and nightmares. Heather Taylor-Zimmerman is a psychologist, trained at the Pacifica Graduate Institute in California, a Jungian program. She leads an experiential educational program focused on personal transformation through visual art. Her work is displayed in clinics, hospitals, and private collections.
