Consciousness - Alexander Smit
Consciousness is Alexander Smit's advaita classic – in print for 35 years and now available for the first time in a hardcover edition. A timeless work for anyone who wants to delve into non-duality, consciousness, and the essence of who you truly are. Do you want to buy a spiritual book about consciousness and advaita? This special work is already waiting for you.
When searching for the essential in our lives, the interest seems to focus primarily on change and improvement. Many even believe that by striving for change, fundamental change will occur. But is that really so? In Consciousness, Alexander Smit clearly and directly conveys the essence of advaita: not striving for change, but simply being.
In profound conversations – in the age-old tradition of satsang, the question-and-answer sessions where teacher and student together explore what is real – he shows how the urge for self-improvement actually forms an obstacle to realizing our true nature. These conversations make this book an inspiring and timeless work for anyone who wants to live consciously from who they truly are.
About the author
Alexander Smit was born in Rotterdam in 1948 and passed away in 1998. In 1978, he met his ultimate teacher Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, after which he began giving satsangs himself – initially under the guidance of Wolter Keers. He grew into one of the most influential Dutch advaita teachers, with a large circle of students and followers who later also started giving satsangs.
